Road Trip 2017 - Day 10 (17th July) - Overnight at Emerald

Today we filled up,with water before leaving the free camp at Jericho. We new from previous experience that the wait is good and it's a very easy spot to access the water.  Consequently we left an extra donation for our overnight stop - and the water top up.

We are only making another short hop today - into Emerald - to do some grocery shopping at a big supermarket.
Along the way we decide to make a slight diversion off the main drag - to make a stop in Alpha - just to get a coffee and have a quick look at this little town.

Alpha has some lovely murals around the town depicting early history - the one shown here is on the wall of the public toilet block.

They also have a little museum and the original train station from the little town of Beta - just up the road from Alpha.

We are staying tonight in a caravan park in Emerald in walking distance to Coles supermarket. This park has a great deal for self sufficient travellers - for $12 you park in a paddock area up the back of the park - no power or connected water. Hey but we still got to use all the park amenities and go to happy hour if we wanted.

It was a great deal for us for an overnight stop and grocery shop.
